Returns, Trade-Ins, and Outfit Discount

Overview

We guarantee the workmanship of the instruments that we sell, regardless of whether they are new or used. We will disclose any flaws that we are aware of with used instruments. Because of the nature of wood and the fact that each instrument is hand made, minor imperfections can, and should, be expected. All components, such as pegs, tail pieces, bridges, etc. should be sound and in good working order when you purchase an instrument from us. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your instrument before the end of the 13-day trial period, please contact us to discuss a return and/or replacement.

Refunds Policy

Most Items purchased from Heaney Violins can be returned within 30 days for a full refund so long as they are in “like new” condition and have all the original packaging.

Exceptions:

  • All sales of consigned items are final.

  • Strings that have been put on instruments cannot be returned.

Trade-In Policy

Heaney Violins guarantees a 2/3 trade-in value for all instruments and bows purchased from us that are in acceptable and saleable condition. Any costs for reconditioning, such as cleaning, bow rehairs, or other repairs to bring the instrument or bow to acceptable and saleable condition are deducted from the trade-in value. This trade-in credit can be applied towards purchase of any instrument of equal or greater value than the instrument or bow being traded-in.

Consigned stringed instruments and bows that are sold on behalf of consignees are indicated with C-prefixed inventory numbers. Consigned items are excluded from the trade-guarantee. Situations can vary and we are happy to discuss individual options.

Outfit Discount

An outfit is a complete kit, comprising an instrument, a bow, and a case. For our customers who assemble an outfit, we are happy to offer a 10% discount if purchased by cash or check.

Warranty

Heaney Violins offers a one year manufacturer warranty on all products sold that protects against defects in materials and flaws in workmanship.

Exceptions:

  • There is no warranty strings that have been put on instruments.
